How abt disconnecting/disabling net and trying.

My suggestion is to apply crack after updating game, After updating some game's binaries/codes are replaced, I had similar prob with some games but after applying crack it worked fine.

Yeah ! but Microsoft is working on those servers to keep server alive as much as possible {or if they can't do that then they will cap the number of download per day tho}, This is only way to keep servers online either fix it or cap it.
